In Senegal, the sea represents abundance and prosperity. All along the coast, there are many active boats and fishermen. Artisanal fishing is both a job and a responsibility — a way for Senegalese men to feed their families, earn a living and to sell fish as far as possible throughout the country. It is common to see entire families involved in the fishing process. Women and children helping out when needed; and sometimes just welcoming fishermen home after a long trip at sea.
